“New Franchise Owner Seeks Refuge from Corporate America”

After a 25 year career in consumer product goods marketing, Matt Ragland decided to “seek refuge from corporate America, franchising.”  Having spent his life on the road and working tirelessly to move his way up the corporate ladder, Matt grew very disenchanted with the politics of the business world for reasons both professional and personal. Through a reduction in force, or an act of a higher power, Matt and his wife Elizabeth were able to take the opportunity to pursue the next adventure in their lives.

Having devoted her life to raising their two children, Elizabeth was also ready for a change of pace, eager to spend more time with her husband and pursue a business venture together. Through an outplacement seminar, Matt and Elizabeth met a franchise consultant who ultimately introduced them to several franchise concepts. With such a strong background in marketing, Matt wanted a business with framework, but that would allow him to leverage his marketing strengths.
