Kristin Adams is an Elements Massage® franchise owner in Castle Rock, Colorado. After a career as a tax consultant, Kristin was looking for a change. After extensive research and receiving a massage at an Elements Massage® studio, she was hooked. She had to open her own Elements Massage® studio, and opening a studio in her hometown was the perfect fit.

What are the time demands when hiring staff?
Hiring the right team is critical for Kristin. “It’s all about the people in this business. Not only do you need to have THE BEST massage therapists, but you also need to have the RIGHT front desk team to run the studio.” Kristin spends a lot of time looking for and interviewing the RIGHT people. “We set aside two weeks to thoroughly interview candidates. Asking the RIGHT questions is crucial in determining if a person will be the right fit for your team.”

What does the typical routine look like on daily/weekly basis?
Kristin’s routine involves daily emails and a weekly manager’s meeting to stay on top of what’s happening with her business.

Do you have a manager? What is their Role? 
Kristin has managers in place who play a significant role in the day-to-day operations of the studio. In addition to working the front desk, they are in charge of hiring/firing staff, training, any HR work. They foster a caring and positive work environment and hold employees accountable to deliver service excellence.

How does Elements Massage® provide ongoing support?
“The franchise support from Elements Massage® is AMAZING. Anytime we have a question; the support center is there with suggestions and solutions.” Kristin says the support center has the training process dialed in and has been a big key to her success.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of owning an Elements Massage® Franchise?
For Kristin, getting to know her employees and building a great team are some of the most rewarding aspects of owning her studio.

Plans for the future?
Kristin and her husband, Mark continue to expand with Elements Massage and have just opened their second location in Castle Rock, CO. They attribute their ability to expand to the strong management they have in place.
